an artistic indie palette full of energetic dynamite tones ....
COLOUR have burst into the chromasphere of debuts, returning with a brand new track "Nowhere". It's for sure a radio friendly experience with shades of all the genuine rock sounds and boosting lyrics to display on canvas, in order to run as heavyweights of the fresh indie champion scene.
These North England guys (James Tidd, Scott Harvey, Liam Downey and Connor Dickson), blended together with a classic combination of ads and friends recommendations, pretty old school style. Teaming up, working together and evolving on an everyday basis.
The guitar licks are a main plate on their menu, but you can always enjoy the solid hyperactive drums and flavorful vocals quite essentialy pitched, coming together as unsettling desirable musical layers. COLOUR, use the instrument in a different way, than to most bands crafting a sound more in step with Everything Everything or Foals than Oasis.
Ignore the things that you know you don’t need
Come out of that shell that surrounds your face
And Look upon the people you have earned
Forget the ideal cos this exists nowhere
Their musical champ menu includes traveling over 300 miles a week between them to rehearsal, and it just shows the dedicated work ethics to achieve a securing sound they want to be attached with. Favoring a DIY approach, they spent more than a year in the studio honing the sound before taking it to the stage, producing everything from artwork to videos themselves and captivating a local fan base.
If George Martin had a day off, he would probably love to catch a live display of COLOUR's euphoria on stage and twist a knob behind the scenes.
All of COLOUR’s gigs to date have sold out, generating rave reviews from local BBC Radio DJs and music blogs alike. This burst of activity earned the band the Merseyside Arts Foundation funding and named them BBC Introducing ‘Band of the Year 2014.’ The band have just been confirmed to play Kendal Calling Festival in July. They also play a headline show at Manchester's Night & Day Cafe on Thursday 17th March, and ‘Gold Dust’ at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen (London) on the 21st.
