“Vast Space,” being willing to “open up your heart and let the love flood in.”The “vast space” isn’t just the one within, either. The natural world played a key part in the creation of these songs, some written while Pryce and Leven were vacationing in the California desert, others while road tripping through the Scottish Highlands (you’ll find images of these adventures with the album art) .
We first fell upon the word Gulp in the Django Django "Late Night Tales" session with the track "Game Love". It seems that these guys toured in the UK and Ireland with them.
its album of the week for give it a spin.
"Put a record on and move around the place" indeed!
with sea tempo and sun into infinity!
Gulp is Guto Pryce (Super Furry Animals) and Lindsey Leven, with Gid Goundrey providing guitar and Gwion Llewelyn (Race Horses) on drums. Fuzzed-up bass, dream-folk vocals, acoustic and electronic drums and synths…their cinematic and ethereal sound is a musical manifestation of the road trip; the landscape and events along the way, filmic scenes and melodies – from the sun-squinting, flickering saturation and lens flare of the Californian desert to the gloamin of rural Scottish and Welsh homescapes.
